Guild Wars Question

Postby Kenshin17 » Wed Apr 05, 2006 7:05 pm

I aplogize in advance if this thread is duplicate.

I wanted to know if anyone here plays Guild Wars...well I know some do. Anyway I want to get an online RPG but I don't want one that requires a subscription as I have dial up and would only be able to play sporatically. So how is Guild Wars from those who have played? Is the learning curve high? And most important is it hard for a new guy to get started when this is his first online RPG?
A nightingale in a golden cage
That's me locked inside reality's maze
Come someone make my heavy heart light
Come undone, bring me back to life
It all starts with a lullaby

guildwars is a great game, there are alot of us here that play (yea there is another thread) guildwars is really fun, i would say it is easy to learn. guild wars prophesies has been out for alittle over a year, and a new expansion (or stand alone game if you just want that one) is coming out at the end of the month. i recommend getting it :) im sure you will get some more recommendations

It's fun, though I don't have time to play much, myself. As dial-up can make updates murder...
This was my first MMORPG and I learned how to play in about an hour.

A friend of mine plays Guild Wars and he says it is quite fast paced so he is unsure how well that would work for you on a dial-up connection.

Honestly, my recommendation for a dial-up connection would be Ultima Online. Mind you, there is a subscription. But it is inexpensive and the game can certainly be played on dial-up.
