Mega Man Maverick Hunter X

I *finally* picked up a new game for my PSP, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X. This game is one sweet little remake package.

Basically, this is Mega Man X on the go with a 3-d graphics face-lift. Yet, it doesn't stop there and comes with several additions to make it well worth the price of admission. After beating the game once you unlocked two things:

1.) A 24 minute Mega Man Anime – this cool little bonus, explains the back story of Mega Man X. While the voice acting isn’t the best (Capcom’s lousy with dialogue), it is fitting and nothing painful to listen to.
2.) Vile becomes a playable character – complete his own story, Vile plays almost completely differently from Mega Man. From the start he has three attacks; a mortar (triangle), machine gun (square), and grenades (circle). I haven’t played much of his levels, but it appears you can replace each one of these weapons with an attack taken from a defeated maverick. He also doesn’t seem to have a dash move. Suffice to say, with rearranged enemy placements, his mode is harder.

On top of this the game includes a hard mode for both characters and a fun little demo for the way too hyper-cute Mega Man Powered Up.

Yep, definitely going to try that one. Even if it's a remake, I'm happy to have something good to play on my PSP. *adds it to his gamefly queue*

This is the game that finally made me break down and want to buy a PSP. XD;; I'm going to buy a PSP in the very near future for this. Remakes = good.

By the way, how's the remixed music? They'd better have shown respect to two of my favorite X tunes, Storm Eagle and Spark Mandrill.

Well, according to the back of the case for MMX: MH, it has remixed music. I have the MMXC for Gamecube, and can verify that none of the music was newly remixed. I say "newly" because the version of Megaman X3 on the MMXC is the Playstation version, which remixed all the music and sound effects of the original SNES X3 (and not for the better, as far as I'm concerned). Maybe I misread the back of the MMX: MH case? I don't know.

It's hit or miss. None of the remixes are really bad, it's just some leave you small craving for the original synth. I can't remember exactly which ones right now, so...

*fires up PSP*

Let's see.... Mandrill and Eagle are still solid, but still be a *little* bit better done (I'm uber picky). The two that I thought could be done a lot better where Octo and Sting's.

-Btw, after you beat the game, can go back and play the entire game with all you powers from start to finish for fun. I'm lovin' the replay value. :thumb:

Both the new mageman PSP games look sick! That's two more reasons I want a PSP.
