Guys all I can say is that MS is NOT playing around with sony this time. I just saw a real-time trailer for Lost Odyssey. Un-flippin'-believable(though this is a leaked shaky-camera trailer)! Btw, did I mean that the trailer is pretty much in real-time? Its using the unreal 3 graphics engine.

Cry-On is another title for exculsively for the 360, and is a action-rpg.

http://www.xboxyde.com/news_2417_en.html

And say hello to the 360's devil may cry, Bullet Witch

http://www.xboxyde.com/news_2418_en.html

MS is paying mistwalker a mess load of money to develop these games, and since mistwalker's founders are the four who did the final fantasy series, I've got every reason to believe that these games will turn out great. Thats what square-enix get for turn it's back on the original creators.

Some of the articles will say that there developed by other companies, but those companies are hired by mistwalker.

Not suprised Xbox is getting these games. I have a brother who works for EA. He says original Xbox was much better to work with than the PS2 from a game development POV.

Not bad, not bad. I seriously doubt any of these games will make me want to buy a 360, but it's nice to know that RPG fans that own one are going to have some games to make it worth their while. Quite awesome indeed.

Never heard of Mistwalker. I'll have to look them up.

I will, however, say that I saw the trailer for Lost Odyssey, and it didn't impress me...doesn't really look like an RPG, but that's judging from a trailer, so who knows?

Mistwalker is headed by Hironobu Sakaguchi. I believe he created the first Final Fantasy game. Last gen, Team Ninja was the only Japanese developer that I know of that M$ had. I think Itagaki-san's fanboydom of M$ will carry over to the 360 but, from what I've read in an interview, they're in development of a Nintendo DS game and there's a glimmer of hope that they might make a Revolution game but the interview I read took place while DOA 4 was in production. Personally, the only way I'll be interested in considering to get a 360 is if another Killer Instinct game comes out.

So wait do FF games have anything to do with this?

Nope. Mistwalker is made up of the people who made S-E what it is, and they just up and decided to leave (I fear for S-E now...).

The Mistwalker people left the company ages ago it's not new news. Actually FFXI is coming to the 360. And it's entirely likely that the future Final Fantasy games will make an appearance on the 360. Microsoft does not *own* or *have* Team Ninja they are a branch of Tecmo. And I believe their relationship will continue to be strong. Team Ninja games are some of the best selling Xbox games in all three major territories. And with DOA4 about to come out and an inevitable Ninja Gaiden. You can count on those becoming number top sellers everywhere.

I know MSP.
I`m not 100% sure MSP, but I think I have more RPGs than you, outside of the FF series but i could be dead wrong. I`ll PM you about it.

I said what does FF have to do with this responding to PillarAnime7.

Uh...pillar_anime7 didn't say anything about Final Fantasy. He talked about some of Mistwalker's employees and unconfirmed DS/Revo games.

Mistwalker is made of people who left Squeenix, and due to this many believe that Squeenix's downward spiral began. (The quality of thier games has gone downhill since FFIX or FFVI, I forget which one they make claims to)

From what I've seen, both are the "final good games" I've seen people claim. Honestly, I think their work went downhill when they merged with Enix.

FFX-2: Didn't like it.
Star Ocean: TTEOT: Didn't like it.
Front Mission 4: No verdict (haven't played it)
Musashi: Samurai Legend: Didn't like it.
Dragon Quest VIII: One of the best games I've ever played.
Final Fantasy XII: Hate it.

So yeah. After their merger with Enix, as far as I'm concerned, Square is 1 for 5 with me. I wish the two companies had stayed separate. :\

Ok.

FX-2: Loved the gameplay, hated everything else.
Star Ocean TTEOT: One of my favorite RPGs.
Front Mission 4: Same as Kae.
Msashi: Samurai Legend: Wicked fun, but the VA is....shudders....
Dragon Quest VIII Really good.
Final Fantasy XII: You`ve purchased a copy of FFXII?! WHOA!
You should`ve fit the word demo so far. It even says before you play:

Gameplay in demo may differ from actualy released version.

They didn`t even make Star Ocean ,Kae, they published it. As far as i`m concerned the only game that was better due to the merge was DQVIII. Enix needed Square`s help with that game. However Enix has ruined everything else.

There are about 25 million people who would slap you for that.

I'm one of 'em. I loved Enix's games before Square ate them.

I think DQ8 was a gem, because DQ is Japan's most popular RPG series and if they had made major changes to it, the fans would've revolted. I can't prove that, though. But the Dragon Quest games have always been spectacular, even before the merger.

Wha? I didn't think FFXII was even out yet, how can you hate it?
I will have to check out the newest Dragon Quest, I keep hearing good things about it but havn't looked at it yet.

The whole issues of RPGs on the Xbox 360 is the large reason why I probably won't buy one. Sony just seems to have more RPGs, expecially the Japanese ones. My only hope is that Microsoft doesn't manage to get a really good RPG made only for the 360 (similarly to what happened to Halo). That type of thing always annoys me, because I don't want to spend $500 for a game system simply for one game, but there are certain games I really want to play. Ahh well, the lovely world of marketing.

I played the demo that came with DQ8 and it was total garbage.

Gameplay in demo may differ from actualy released version.

Well, Tom, when you've been alive as long as I have and played a few demos, you'd know that this doesn't refer to gameplay mechanics. For example, the FF7 demo had Tifa in your party at the beginning of the game, and you had Materia that you wouldn't normally have at that point in the game (like Cure and Quake). THAT is what they mean by gameplay being different from the actual game.

The combat system in FFXII will be exactly the same as in the demo, which is not good news for old school FF fans. Then again, I've never been a HUGE fan of Final Fantasy, so the franchise dying off like this might open the door for other RPG series that are more deserving of the spotlight.

Yes, and I know about the FF8 one too since I have a copy of Brave Fencer Musashi and I was confused there was an extra track in the demo that was really good and didn`t appear in the real game.

I understand what you mean, but as you know manny people were ticked off at the gameplay for FFXII so you`d assume they would change it. But now that I think of it, same situation with FFX-2 and Square didn`t lift a finger.

I`m sorry, but that was a matter of opinion.

IMO, the Dragon Quest games were pretty mediocre with the exception of VIII. That was all my opinion, though. It just seems like all the games i like with an Enix lable just publish it and don`t make it.

An opinion that you stated as fact.

And game companies rarely change tings simply because people don't like it. It costs too much money to rebuild a game from the ground up. it's pointless when the game will sell millions simply based on it's name. (like final fantasy)

I`m sorry if it sounded like a fact, but i meant it as opinion.

According to all my friends at school:

"Final Fantasy isn`t popular, kid. Why do they keep making more, it`s just taking up space on the shelves."

I debated, but I may change my mind.
