I beat him at Level 42 in my second playthrough.

I didn't "pwn" him, but he wasn't that hard.

O_O *explodes* That's hpow you get through the barrel!?!?!? *kills self*. I can't believe it! I'd been stuck at that part forever. I was just thinking about that game the other day too.

The hardest boss of all time is definitly the big medusa monster at the end of Final Fantasy 3. I've been playing that game on the DS for a while, and I literally fought it like 10 times before I beat it. The stupid thing could wipe out my party in one turn...and we were all level 54. Level building in the last dungeon was impossible, since all the enemies were powerful and yet they only gave out like 2500 exp per battle. And what makes it even worse is that you have to power through 2 full dungeons and SIX boss fights in order to beat the game...and not a single save point in between. I am sick and tired of the final FF3 dungeons!! I finally beat te final boss by killing it's tentacle minions first, then it could only attack twice per turn, instead of 4 times.

New suggestion: Luu Bu in Samurai Warriors. You only get to him after going through 30 levels of progressively stronger enemies and there's no save option. He's next to invincible except for your True Musou attacks and he can wipe out any life bar in a few combos. Not the hardest boss ever, but pretty challenging.

What frustrates me is when I'm trying to do what you're meant to do, but something goes wrong so I think that doesn't work. For example, in a game I played recently you were supposed to make two objects crash together. This was one of the first things I tried, but it appeared not to work so I kept trying other things, earning myself a great deal of annoyance.

Going against my own thread here, but ah... I tackled the Cave of Ordeals in Twilight Princess for the first time a couple days ago. Nobody told me what to expect in there, so I went with 10 of my 12 hearts filled, 3 fairies, and 1 Great Fairy's Tear; about 10 arrows, 20 bombs (5 of them those useless Bomblings), and 49 pellates for my slingshot. My gf and her friends told me that it was impossible to do it with those kind of equips (they claim that 12 hearts is pathetic health and that fairys "suck"), but I actually finished the final battle against 3 Darknuts with only one heart left.

The CoO might not be a boss, but it's definitly one of the most challenging things I've done in a videogame in a long time.

Kuchinawa in Tales of Symphonia.

He's optional, but you only play as Sheena (not the strongest player) and you can't use items.

Kuchinawa? I don't remember having any problems with him. I just used demon seal to keep him knocked down, when he was lying on his back he couldn't hurt me. Towards the end I hit overlimit and was able to obliterate him with a summon. The hardest battle I fought in that game, was Abyssion. I managed to beat him at level 60 on normal mode. It literally took me 25 minutes of fighting, but once I got into a "groove" of blocking, attacking, and healing, it wasn't bad.

As for the most difficult battle of all time.....: The optional boss from Baldur's Gate 2: the Demigorgon of watchers keep, solo, on core rules (haven't been able to beat him on insane) was very hard. Obviously it is not the most difficult boss ever, but it was pretty darn hard.

Dr. Doom in Marvel Ultimate Alliance.
It took me at least 45 minutes in the battle to beat him.

He steels Odin(Father Of Thor)'s powers and pretty much is unstoppable.
All I had left was Wolverine.. And I won.. Hard though.

He does seem really hard when you first meet him, doesn't he? The first time I got there I had little health and died so quickly I almost stopped trying. But actually, given some practice he's not all that hard. I haven't played the Hell level all that much and I can beat him almost every time now.

Are you just commenting on the difficulty or are you having trouble with him? If it's the latter I'd be happy to offer tips.

I forgot to mention Dead or Alive 4's final boss, if just for sheer cheapness. I have never actually gotten up and screamed at a screen after I beat a boss "IN YOUR FACE!", but that stupid AI/Cortana wannabe drove me to it.

The first time I played Metal Gear Solid (roughly 3-4 years ago), it took me an hour to beat Metal Gear Rex. Now, I know most of you are gonna be like "OMG I beet him on leik my furst try lol noob", but GOSH DANG I was frustrated.

Oh, and the entire new Ninja Gaiden is a boss fight. And it hurt me. That was 25 hours of a video game beating me up.

The jumping and smashing one? Fortunately for you, once you get the hang of it that one isn't hard. Wait till you see the third...

But I'm trying to be encouraging here, not depressing. Since you're not going for a low time at this stage, make dodging your highest priority (getting stomped will take out your life in a hurry). Basically, the boss will always jump toward you, so as soon as he jumps, use your jet pack in the opposite direction. Land briefly and then jet pack over the shockwaves, most likely the other way to avoid his next leap. He will jump three times quickly (falling down initially counts as one jump) before pausing for a bit. This is when you jump up to eye level and hit him.

What weapons are you using? Do you have the Spur? That's definitely my personal favorite for this battle. You can charge it to max while dodging, then unleash it during the pause (and if you're good, you can do this twice per cycle). If you can make your attacks go through both eyes you'll do 160+ damage, which chews through his life pretty fast. On the subject of weapons: I'd save your missiles for the last form and use Curly's Nemesis on the first (it's probably more effective than your equipped weapon, plus you can spend all your time running away).

If you get to the third form or need to know where the Spur is, just let me know. When you do beat the boss it is very satisfying.

I'm practically tearing my hair out over this fight on Ultimate Spiderman. I got stuck here last time I played a few years ago too. I'm playing as Venom. I have to chase Electro. Simple enough. And yet, for some reason, I keep failing. It's irritating. THEN afterwards (And I have yet to get this far this time around) I'll have an incredibly furstrating FIGHT with him!

Pretty much every boss so far in Lost Planet: Extreme Condition has had me cussing and wanting to throw my controller through the TV screen, but I get through them. Usually I start in a VS, wreck it, use/wreck all other available VS units, and finish the fight on my feet. But there's something kinda cool about that. It makes you feel like a bad mutha*bleep*.

The bosses in Arc the Lad: End of Darkness are driving me nuts at the moment. The last few have had tons of defense and lots of powerful attacks, but they're also a pain because in order to kill them you have to reduce their HP to zero and then hit them with a special attack (that takes a few seconds to charge) in order to "exorcise" them. But if you don't hit them with it quickly, or if you or your stupid AI controled partner hit them with a normal atack, they regain like half their HP and start fighting again.

From what I've heard about my brother playing the Final Chapter (cause there's always gotta be one in the newer Sonic games) in Sonic and the Secret Rings, the boss is really cheap and godly. I hate those.

(Oh yeah, and the only reason I've heard about how he's doing instead of watching him actually play is because the boss has to be one of the ugliest and freakiest looking characters I have ever seen...not to mention one of the scariest...yeah, I'm kinda sensitive :P).

I had a hard enough time on the last Sonic Heroes boss on EASY mode (aka Team Rose). Seriously, the second to last boss with Eggman and his plane was bad enough and just painfully LOOOOOONG. The last boss I was thinking "seriously, if I tried hard enough I MIGHT be able to do this in an hour" (the plan one took me 45 mins roughly). So, I took a "break" from that game and went to others... haven't been back since^^ With Team Sonic or Shadow, my goodness I can't imagine >_< Stuck on those ones as it is too :/

Anyone else have the same issue? On the last boss on Sonic 2, I... didn't realize just how EASY he was to beat, compared to what I thought you had to do^^ Maybe there is a trick involved... *shrugs*
