ah, the world is happy... An interesting, new upgrade system; BJs finally getting the short end of the stick; some wicked new pet system; ...

ah... I'm looking forward to this.

Yeah, there's some interesting stuff here. I don't think I'll be using any of the new pets... I'll keep with my Aibatt ;p

Although, I think you misread the BJ thing a bit. It never says Jesters can't use bows; only that Jesters can't use an Ultimate Bow. HOPEFULLY you're right, though, I'm sick of seeing BJ's running around everywhere and I think it's a necessary change to the game.

I also agree that the new upgrade system looks interesting, but they haven't released enough details about it to really make it clear how it'll work.

All in all, though, I'm looking forward to seeing what v9 will hold.

Heard some new things about v9 that are exciting... to me, at least. Supposedly, there's going to be new mobs and a new dungeon (new mobs are 117-118 and 119-120), as well as the addition of the Hero's Quest.

Hero's Quest:
A quest you can do at level 120. It resets your level to level 60, but you retain all your stats and skills, and you gain new skills to level. Basically, it's amazing.

Also:

Heh, first level in a loooooong time. ;p

Hero quest and new mobs, if we get them, come at V10 tho (based on KFlyFF and PhFlyFF).

I'm really unsure about the Hero Quest tho... Unless they make the first time through level 120 like getting to level 80 now, it'd be kinda pointless to put it in the game since there's only like... 7 people who are level 120 so far.

Wow, imagine how strong someone who gets to level 120 twice would be... o.o

Actually, couldn't you kill level 120ish mobs at level 60 if you keep your stats? Levelling would be a snap then.

The thing there, though, is the level barriers. Sure, with the stats of a 120, you would probably be able to kill things well over what a normal character of your level would, but because of sheer level differences, you couldn't really go kill mobs obscenely higher than you... Unless you were a crucio psy or something, maybe.

Forgive my obstinance, but why? If your stats are the same, you should have no problem with an obscenely higher mob. Unless you don't get exp if the mob is too many levels above you?
Oh, or do you have to go back to using level 60 equipment? That makes more sense, because the def rate would be much lower and you'd be forced to fight reasonable mobs.

That's one part, yes, about having to go back to level 60 equipment, but the other part is the in-game level barrier. As you kill monsters higher and higher over you, only do a percentage of your damage. Your actual damage is what you do against mobs the same level as you. It just so happens, though, that after you pass 11 levels over you, the percentage of your normal damage you do falls MUCH faster. That's why yes, theoretically, you could fight that high, but why would you?

Say I got Mina to 120 and did the quest. I'm level 60 again. I'm back to using a Gstick and a Flury set ('cause Shuran FAILS). I still have Merkaba, so I can definitely level by AoEing. Now, at level 60... Sure, I could probably go level at carriers or maybe even higher, but I could also AoE cranes and clean up. It's not about your ABILITY to kill the mob, it's about the exp over time.

Quite so.

Also, the exp rates are cut in half on your second journey to 120, so the exp gain over time becomes extremely important.

That was only a rumor and is not true. You gain the same exp after completing the quest as you did the first time to 120.

Hmm... I got that info off a translation of the KFlyFF site, from one of the mods at FlyFFWorld...

Oh well, still, we may never see the Hero Quest at all. One can only hope...

Got bigger things to worry about, anyhow. I played the V9 beta. Happy-coon has run out of happy.

Lol. The people in fly kinda irritate me now 'cause everyone's whining about v9. Yeah, parts of it suck and it needs some work, but it's here to stay and we can't really change that. So you gotta keep on keepin' on.

btw, Slater, I sold my Flury set >:3

Meh, you guys should quit playing Flyff. I've realized that there is quit literally nothing to do but grind.... nothing at all. Come play Fiesta instead, or if you have the money go play WoW like MSP is always saying :D

Well FlyFF DOES have Clockwork Raids, but that's kind of it.

*Huggles WoW for having tons and tons of awesome Raid/type things*

40-Man Zul-Gurub Raids = Zomg I want to partake.

Edit: Found this yesterday. Everyone go watch it

Not to sound condescending (and I know it will, so keep that in mind), but I made it way farther in Fly than you guys did, so it should make sense that I'd want to keep playing. And if for no other reason than the fact that I spent lots of time on fly, I won't quit that easily.

lol Nah. I understand. I wasn't being serious either. ;) I'd probably say the same if I were level 70 in WoW.

Wrath of the Lich King is going to bump it up to 80. (Which will appear sometime in 2008).

As for now, it's 70.

Edit: I've recently been watching random raid videos on youtube.

Ah. Last I had heard, 60 was the cap, but I don't really follow WoW, so don't be surprised, lol.

It was 60 until The Burning Crusade expansion pack was released.

I used to play Flyff. Back when I had a working Windows machine (a year and a half ago).

And yeah. Flyff is pretty grind-tastic. They should really improve the flight battle system. It would probably be more in-depth if they did.

Still playing FlyFF, trying to sell Green Boxes (I have 325 of them)

Big controversy right now is the Dice NPC in Flaris...

Haven't had time for Fly since school started. Grinding Minamo is just too time consuming now, especially since I'm at school practically half the day, every day and doing homework with whatever free time I have. Came close to 119 staying FS the whole way, though. That's gotta mean something, right? :p

Yep, it does. Every level, not only does the exp get lower when compared to your required exp pool, but the bonus that you get from having a partner is practically 0 if they're 0-1 levels above you, and the game hurts your partner's exp if you get above him.

Me, I restatted my RM and spent a little less than half a billion in equips so that I can AoE when there's no good fighters online, but I can throw my old Wedge and Intrets on and FS the most hardcore AoEr if I find one. I was genuinely surprised when this actually worked: I can AoE 50+ mobs 3 levels above me (would try more but they start running away when I get that many) and I haven't killed any partner since the change. Sure does take a lot more Refreshers though.
