Don't know if anyone's played this. My wife and I played it for a couple months. It's still considered in Beta, but the game is supposed to be free for life with a buy-in store system. Honestly though, just from playing it doesn't feel like it's necessary to buy the store items etc. to get ahead. My group and I do just fine without.
VOYAGE CENTURY
Summary of it: 16-17TH Century MMORPG with basic crafting and combat system. No magic wielders, just muskets, swords, etc. There is ground combat (unlike eve) and ship combat. You can choose to be a trader/merchant, naval officer, pirate, or adventurer (this last one being made up of individuals who sail around the globe looking for treasure, new animals, etc.). The customization is pretty lacking, but the fact that there is a player based economy is interesting.
Guilds are a big deal, with the ability to capture ports and whatnot. PVP seems voluntary, while pve is the big thing.
Overall: For a free game it's great. If it was pay to play, then not so much.
It can be a grind fest, but with friends I think that dims the burden. Again customization is lacking, but can't expect too much for free. Skill based, so you can actually learn plenty of skills rather than be set in a specific class.
Check it out, download the client and give it a go. If it looks like something CAA might wanna get a guild in, lemme know. I'm already in and can help out.
