Losing Faith

I feel that I'm losing my faith in God. I haven't been reading my bible or even listing to Christan music all that often. I recently joined a skeptic group which has helped me with my issues with conspiracies but it has also made me go further away form God. Most of the members do not believe in God and just think that all religions are just bull. They post a lot of articles on Evolutions and while I don't read them I do question Christianity a lot now. Adding to this issue I'm also depressed. I didn't think that my moving to South Carolina would have an effect on me as much as it has. I feel very lonely, and though I've made friends I just don't feel very close to them like with my old friends(most of the don't even keep in contact with me) I did in LA. Its been very hard to adjust to SC and my new school. Pleas pray for me and give advice for me.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a rough time. It takes time to make friends and get that close to them- if you haven't known them for that long, I can see why you wouldn't feel as close. I'm sorry to hear your old friends haven't stayed in touch, either- have you been contacting them, or have you been waiting for them to contact you?
Just so you know, Christianity and Evolution aren't necessarily incompatible- I think Nate and I are the resident proofs of that. We believe but we still have faith.
However, would it be possible to find another skeptics group that perhaps isn't is hostile to religion?

I'm sorry to hear that
Sometimes friends grow apart because of moving. But I'm sure that you'll make good friends regardless.

I actually believe in the theory of evolution as well. *Holds up sheild.* Anyway, I'm sorry to hear you've been having such a hard time. I to often have my moments where I feel I'm falling away a little or 'not acting Christian enough.' I generally have problems consistantly praying, talking to God, reading the Bible, going to church, etc. So in a way I do know how you feel. I question things in the Bible and Christianity in general when it comes to certain subjects. I think the important thing to remember is that God always has and always will be far above religion and heck, even the Bible. You are always probably going to have doubts and questions, you are only human and unfortunatly most of the things you want to know for sure won't be explained to you until you have passed on. God loves you and He is always watching over you. Jesus paid the price for your sins by dying on the cross for you, for me and for everyone in this world that has have ever lived!
I suggest perhaps finding a new skeptic group that is more tolerant of Christianity. These guys and ladies constantly bashing it isn't going to help you any unless you really think you can handle it. As for your friends, I've lived in Pennsylvania my whole life and have never had to move so I can't begin to even imagine how terrible that feels. I hope you will be able to connect with some people in your new home soon and make some friends. I don't have much advice to give you on this considering I'm a very shy and avoident person myself, I only really have two friends I hang out with every now and then. None the less I will be sure to keep you in my prayers!

Keep on studying the Word of God and ask God for more faith
. The more you stay closer to God, the more you'll grow.
